Affirm Offerings

Initial Consultation

Hilary Sullivan, Affirm's founder and principal, offers a complimentary 30 minute consultation to discuss your student and their college counseling needs.

Comprehensive Packages

Affirm's full service packages guide up twelve students per grade through all aspects of the college admission process. Hilary partners with her students as they discover their college aspirations and supports them with outstanding customer service throughout the college process. For one set rate, these packages can start as early as freshman year with guidance through the senior year. Hilary encourages families to start early as spaces fill quickly. An early start gives Hilary an opportunity to guide younger students in their course selection, building a strong activity resume, and planning their summers to explore new passions.

Hourly Packages

4, 10, or 15 hour packages are offered on a space available basis to work on one or more of Affirm's college counseling services.

Why hire a consultant?

The college admissions process has grown increasingly complex and competitive in recent years and families benefit from an educational consultant to guide them in the high school years. Through conversations, exercises, and multiple assessments, Hilary gains a true understanding of her students and delivers winning results by matching them with a balanced list of "best fit" colleges. She provides informed and honest advice to help her students find colleges where they will thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Hilary serves as a trusted advisor working with her students through each step of their college admissions journey.

Did you know?

According to the American School Counselor Association, public high school college counselors are assigned 408 students on average, and provide an average of 38 minutes of personal college advising over four years of high school. Private schools may have just a few counselors for the entire school while the average student to IECA member ratio is 24:1. At Affirm, Hilary offers boutique-style consulting with no more than 10 students per grade to ensure all her clients' needs are met in a timely and thorough manner.

Which college would be the RIGHT fit?

Every college has its own campus culture, value system, degree of academic rigor, structure, and expectations placed on its students. Hilary's goal is to identify the right college that will maximize your student’s potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

How early should we start?

Affirm offers students and families an exceptional level of personal service starting as early as the 9th grade. Hilary begins with in-depth student and parent interviews and assessments of the student’s academic profile, interests, extracurricular activities, and personal goals. She guides her students through their high school years assisting with course selection, extra curricular choices, summer plans, and starting in the junior year, the college application process.

Affirm's expertise helps relieve stress.

Hilary creates a timeline for her students and breaks down the process into manageable steps. She helps students craft and polish an outstanding Personal Statement and other supplemental essays to show the student in the best possible light. Hilary walks her students through each step of the college process until they are ready to submit outstanding applications and then helps them with their final decisions.

"I highly recommend working with Affirm Educational Planning. Hilary Sullivan is a knowledgeable, reliable, and accessible educational consultant. She communicated regularly, assisted with all pieces of the application process, and reminded Laura of her numerous deadlines. Hiring Hilary greatly eased the tension and pressure between us, the parents, and our student. We are thrilled that our daughter will be enrolling in Dartmouth College this fall!"
